Where Did Everybody Go?

 Geesh-with COVID-19 closing down our lives, are you feeling a bit lonely or isolated? Many people are. It is causing emotional distress, often leading to physical distress. So what are YOU doing...popping pills, living life on your laptop screen, gaining weight, losing contact with the rest of humanity?

Why? Where is your foundation? If you built it on theories, ideas, broken dreams...you're lost and lonely, for sure. If your life is built on the Lord, there is a way out, a hope for the future.

I'm not talking about "religion" here, they are a dime a dozen, so to speak. I'm talking about a real relationship, with a real God. Have you taken a moment of time in your life to "have a little talk with Jesus"? A talk where you humbly, yeah dude and dudette, humbly come before Him. Admit you don't know it all, that you may not understand all the spiritual side of life, but you confess that you have sinned, have done wrong. Have you asked Him in that quiet moment to forgive you, to come into your heart and soul? 

If not, it's a lonely, dead existence ahead for many. Some have riches and fame and may not suffer the loss, the lack you feel, but when they finish their tour of duty here, they are in hell forever. Not as punishment, but because they have the filth of the dead nature covering them. And that's because of Adam's sin and resulting separation from the perfection of God. Nothing unclean can be in the presence of God. Remember, hell is real and it is full of people, not rejected by God but rather, those who rejected God. Don't be in that doomed gang.

If you have Him in your heart and soul, not just your head, you then come into His riches. And those you don't stack up in a bank or mutual fund...His riches fill you, even in your darkest hours. Yet some have said they know Him, but are still lonely and lost. Well, you may "know" Him in your head, but "information" is totally different than "transformation". Once He's inside, you'll know it for sure because the junk and jerks that used to be a big part of your life, suddenly don't hold a place anymore. You just don't "feel" like doing what you used to heartily do. It's a change and it's stark. Only you will know the difference and others will see it. 

But just like a baby, you don't stay a baby. You have to continue nourishment in His Word, seek and connect with the fellowship of His people. Grow in strength, wisdom, purity and holiness. Just words to some...but life to those who know Him.

If you think God is on vacation and doesn't hear you or forgot you, then be reminded of the depth and truth of what He said in Romans 8:38-39, For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

God is there...for you. Growing in a deep, intimate, personal relationship in Jesus will fill you, even when you wonder, "where did everybody go?"
